From Chester, South Carolina, Ulysses Brown Sr. and Pauline Chisholm Brown, united in marriage in their early twenties. From that union, seven children were born, four girls and three boys. From oldest to youngest, they were called Bernice, Ann, Joe, Virgiree, Larry, Margaret and Oscar. Rooted in love, they were a close-knit family. Parents and children had a passion for singing. The harmonious melodies they made whenever they got together were something to behold. From here, we will look into the lives of the Brown family.
